Qwadrum was born from a simple yet powerful idea: men's skin is different from women's, and therefore, it deserves its own science and specific products.
After decades in the pharmaceutical industry, and more specifically in the areas of research, development, and leadership, we decided to found Qwadrum to redefine men's skincare. We are Elia Torroella and Carlos Montañes, and we share the conviction that true efficacy is only based on an understanding of biology, not marketing trends. Our goal was to create scientifically-based formulas, developed by pharmacists and dermatologists, that respect the unique physiology of men's skin: its thicker structure, higher sebum production, greater collagen density, and different aging processes compared to women's skin. Qwadrum combines scientific precision with everyday simplicity, offering visible results without compromise.

The Founders
Èlia Torroella — Co-founder and Scientific Director
A pharmacist and scientist trained at the University of Barcelona, Elia Torroella is one of Europe's most respected voices in pharmaceutical R&D.
For almost three decades, she has led pioneering projects in immunology, molecular biology, clinical trials, and vaccine technology. As Global Director of R&D and Regulatory Affairs, she built and led a team of over 400 researchers in Europe, the United States, and Asia, developing 22 innovative vaccines in the last decade, including the only COVID-19 vaccine developed entirely in the EU.
For her commitment to public health and scientific advancement, she was awarded the Creu de Sant Jordi (2024), one of Catalonia's highest distinctions.
At Qwadrum, Elia applies her expertise to create skincare products, transforming complex science into accessible, high-performance products for men's skin.
Carlos Montañés — Co-founder and Executive Director
With a degree in Life Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and executive training from IESE and The Wharton School (USA), Carlos Montañes has over 30 years of global experience leading pharmaceutical organizations.
As CEO, Vice President, and Managing Director of several international companies, he has transformed local businesses into global players, always guided by a vision that connects strategy, innovation, and human development.
Carlos has lived and worked in Europe, America, Asia, and Africa, gaining a deep understanding of cultural diversity and market needs. Beyond his executive career, he lectures on globalization, motivation, and business excellence, inspiring a new generation of leaders to build companies with purpose.
